Conducting official business over Facebook is not something that happens every day, but it’s not the first time it has happened and this one certainly has quite a story behind it.
26 year old Manhattan woman Ellanora wants to officially divorce her husband Victor, but since they have gone their own ways he has been incredibly difficult to track down.
He doesn’t have a job, hasn’t had a fixed address since 2011, has no government records attached to him and the number he is using for calls does not have a record that authorities can use…but he does use his phone and most importantly the social media network facebook.
Because of this situation, a Manhattan Supreme Court Justice has ruled that Ellanora can serve her Divorce summons via Facebook message once a week for three consecutive weeks or until acknowledged.
I’m sure Ellanora will be hoping to see a read flag very soon.
